Our biggest reading celebration of the year kicks off Monday, March 2, 2026 and we want every reader ready to go!

This Read-A-Thon is extra special because it’s our LAST big fundraiser of the school year, and we’re aiming high with a goal of $10,000, just like last year!
Funds raised will go directly toward student programming, and if we reach our goal, the PTA will be able to fund the incredible BMX assembly that students absolutely love!

This year we’re super excited to put on an International Cultural Fair for our students. It’s set up like a science fair, where each table represents a country and students walk through learning about food, music, clothing, traditions, and stories from around the world.
The goal is to help our kids build curiosity, empathy, and pride in their identities, while also bringing families together. We’re looking for parents who want to help plan the event and parents who’d like to host a country table. You don’t need to be an expert, and the time commitment can be very flexible. We really want this to be something the whole community helps create.
Volunteer support is hugely important to make this event a true success!

Volunteering as Parent Presenter - the main objective is to share, celebrate, and educate students about culture in a way that is engaging and inclusive. Your time and support will expose our students to a meaningful window into various cultural traditions, history, and lived experiences!
No prior experience is required to be a presenter, all it takes is your passion and pride as you share a short 2-5 min story on your culture and what it means to you with our PS 102 Students when they visit your personally designed table!
If you are unable to be a presenter but would still like volunteer the are several open slots for setting up, help during the fair or with clean up afterwards!

Celebrate the end of National Reading Month with a fun Parent Read Aloud at PS 102 The Bayview School!
We’re excited to bring back this beloved in-school tradition on Monday, March 30th from 9:00–10:30 AM, when parents will have the chance to visit classrooms and read a favorite story to their child’s class. If parents would like to read more than once, you’re welcome to sign up for an additional classroom that still has open spots.
Spots are first come, first served, and we are unable to add additional readers beyond what is listed on the sign-up sheet, so be sure to reserve your place early!

Box Out Bullying is a national touring organization that specializes in combining research-based bullying prevention with dynamic live theater.
Bullying is a national epidemic. Sadly, schools across the nation are no exception to this trend or to the negative consequences that accompany these behaviors. If your community is dedicated to confronting bullying in a fun and hands-on way, we welcome you to Box Out Bullying!

Halloween Hoopla is one of our favorite traditions! Students in all grades, K through 5, will join in the fun with costumes, treats, and spooky surprises. (Please no masks or props!)
We’re looking for volunteers to help decorate, hand out candy and goodies, take photos, and clean up. PTA will provide lunch for helpers!

Students will enjoy live performances featuring beautiful folklórico dancers in colorful costumes and the lively music of a Mariachi band!
Together, we’ll learn about the meaning behind this joyful celebration — including ofrendas (altars), marigolds, and how families come together to share memories and celebrate life.

This sweet tradition is all about spreading cheer, one cookie at a time! We need YOUR HELP to make the magic happen for our students!
Every student will receive a delicious 100% nut free gingerbread cookie and all the fun fixings to decorate it in class — as a gift from the PTA. But it takes a team effort to bring it all together!
Pre Order an Exclusive PTA Gingerbread Cookie Day T Shirt by November 15th and help us raise funds for the cookies!
We’re looking for volunteers to help sort and count out cookie decorating supplies down the last sprinkle, deliver supplies to classrooms, and, of course, hand out the cookies!
You can also help us check off everything on our Amazon Wishlist to make sure every student gets what they need to decorate their cookie.

About Omegaman:
The Omegaman Assembly is a high-energy, interactive school program designed to inspire and engage K–5 students through a dynamic mix of superhero performance, audience participation, and powerful character-building lessons. Drawing on a fun superhero theme, Omegaman and his team deliver exciting stunts, stories, and visuals that reinforce positive choices, kindness, bully prevention, social-emotional learning (SEL), PBIS goals, and character development. Students are encouraged to be everyday heroes - embracing respect, resilience, and responsibility while learning practical strategies for confidence, inclusion, and positive behavior. About The Assembly:
Blast into the past with a dazzling celebration of African Americans’ contributions to our nation’s history. For forty minutes, students will be transported through time as a brilliant laser light show entertains and educates them with vivid laser animations set to a rocking soundtrack. In terms of fun assemblies with educational value, the Black History Laser Tribute is second to none and is adored by students and teachers alike.
The program takes the audience on a musical journey through history that highlights the profound contributions of African Americans to our culture and our country’s rich past, providing students with an important opportunity to enhance their comprehension of and engagement with Black history. Our “Time Machine” combines the power of lasers and music to produce an engaging and educational assembly experience – perfect for Black History Month or MLK Day celebrations – that will leave your kids wanting more.
